Music has always been Alexa’s primary language. She learned to sing as soon as she could talk, studied ballet, jazz and tap starting at age five, and pursued acting, piano and guitar in a performing arts high school in her native Tampa Bay, Florida. After graduating from the Boston Conservatory of Music with a bachelor’s in musical theater, she moved to New York, scored roles in Off-Broadway cabaret shows, a regional theater production of Monty Python’s “Spamalot” and headlined in a one-woman show at Rockwood Music Hall. Signing to Wilhelmina in 2016, Alexa became an empowering figure in front of the camera, landing campaigns for Nordstrom Rack, Mara Hoffman, Macy’s, Target, lingerie brand CUUP, appearing in Vogue and Refinery 29, as her face soared above taxis in an ad for Lord & Taylor. Crediting music for her comfort in her skin, Alexa decided to pursue a Master’s in musical therapy, graduating from NYU’s Steinhardt School and completing a clinical internship at a pediatric hospital during the COVID lockdown. She currently lives in Brooklyn with her husband and hopes to combine her passion for body positivity with music therapy.
