We started off by checking into the Dylan Hotel, a hip boutique property located in the center of Manhattan, which became model search headquarters for the duration of the contest. The finalists then proceeded to the more offices to be fit by more's editorial team for the group layout in the magazine. The women tried on fashions from designers such as Prada, Christian Dior, and more. Then it was off to the Mark Garrison Salon, a top New York salon where founder Mark Garrison personally worked with each finalist to bring out the best features in each finalist. After a busy day of fittings and a salon visit, the finalists retired for the evening in order to be fresh for the photoshoot the next day.
The finalists arrived at the Pier 59 Studios bright and early the next day to begin the shoot for more. A top team of hair and make-up artists, such as Mark Garrison and celebrity make-up artist Sandy Linter, prepared the finalists for photographer Marc Royce. The shoot was an excellent collaboration of style and beauty, with each finalist looking radiant! Once the shoot was over the finalists got ready to meet our distinguished panel of judges. This year, the judges were: Dieter Esch, President of Wilhelmina, along with a team of Wilhelmina agents, Susan Crandell, the Editor-in-Chief of more, Lois Joy Johnson, the Beauty & Fashion Director of more, celebrity make-up artist Sandy Linter and founder of the Mark Garrison Salon, Mark Garrison. The judges had the responsibility to select the top three winners who would go on to receive guaranteed contracts from Wilhelmina Models, a feature editorial appearance in more, and such prizes from sponsors as a day at an Estee Lauder spa, a trip to Tuscany from Backroads' Active Vacations, a Cinzia Rocca coat, and a Visa gift card, among other prizes!
...where the Finals party would be held. Guests were invited to enjoy a beautiful evening and see the selection of the three winners. After a brief word from Wilhelmina, more, Estee Lauder, Visa, Garnier Nutrisse, and Cinzia Rocca, the moment to view the finalists and hear the winners arrived. Liz Cullumber, the contest spokesperson and winner from the first Search introduced Editor-in-Chief of more Susan Crandell who did the honors of announcing the winners. And leaving the party with a Wilhelmina contract, a scheduled appearance in more, along with other prizes are Linda Cole, Teri Butler, and Karen Dessables!
