What is the MORE/Wilhelmina 40+ Model Search?
A. The MORE/Wilhelmina 40+ Model Search is a national model search contest for women 40 years of age or older. The contest is in its eighth year and is sponsored by Wilhelmina Models and MORE magazine.
Q. How many women are selected?
A. We judge all eligible entries and select ten (10) Finalists to receive a three-day trip to New York City in February 2008. The ten (10) Finalists then compete for the chance to win Wilhelmina modeling contracts and an editorial appearance in MORE magazine.
Q. What are the requirements?
A. The contest is open to women who are legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia (void in CT, CO, VT, MD, ND and PR) and 40 years of age or older as ofNovember 15, 2007 EXTENDED! November 29, 2007. There are no height or size requirements for this contest. There is a $25.00 non-refundable processing fee which includes a one-year subscription to MORE, compliments of Wilhelmina. This one-year subscription to MORE will start with our April 2008 issue. Q. What is the deadline?
A. The contest launched on August 15, 2007 on MORE.com and Wilhelmina.com, as well as in the September 2007 issue of MORE. The contest endsNovember 15, 2007 EXTENDED! November 29, 2007. Mail entries must be postmarked on or beforeNovember 15, 2007 EXTENDED! November 29, 2007and received by November 26, 2007. Online entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. onNovember 15, 2007 EXTENDED! November 29, 2007. In person entries at Open Call locations must be received by the times designated in the Official Rules.
Q. What type of photo should I submit? Can I enter more than once?
A. The photo should depict entrant's appearance and personality, including photogenic quality and vitality. Photos may be a snapshot, Polaroid, or digital, color or black and white, no smaller than 3" x 4" and no larger than 8" x 10". No slides, transparencies, or photocopies are permitted. Legibly print name of the entrant on the back of the photograph. Entries and photos become property of Wilhelmina Models and will not be returned. Entry forms may be photocopied and entrants may enter as often as they like, however, a separate entry form, photograph and processing fee is required for each entry.
Q. Is there really a market for women over 40?
A. Absolutely! That is one of the reasons we hold the contest. While the market for women 40+ is not the majority of the modeling business, it does continue to grow. The need and climate for women over 40 is steadily increasing and MORE and Wilhelmina are here to meet that demand.
Q. What are you looking for in the entrants?
A. We are looking for vibrant, photogenic women who are interested in the modeling business. There is no set formula regarding hair or skin color. We select the women we think are the strongest candidates from the photo submittals.
Q. What is an Open Call event?
A. The road to becoming a Finalist in the MORE/Wilhelmina Model Search often begins at Open Calls, which will be held this year in New York, Tennessee, Utah, Ohio, California, Massachusetts, Kansas, North Carolina, Florida and Nevada. At each Open Call, women 40+ have the opportunity to enter the contest in person by filling out an application, submitting a current photo, and paying a $25 processing fee, which includes a one-year subscription to MORE, compliments of Wilhelmina. If you don't bring a photo, have one taken on-site at no charge. Open Call participants also have the opportunity to meet Wilhelmina agents, MORE representatives, and previous Model Search winners.

Q. Is there an advantage to entering in person at an Open Call event?
A. No. All entries stand an equal chance regardless of whether they are submitted by mail, online, or at an Open Call. Women who attend an Open Call event, also get to meet MORE representatives, Wilhelmina agents, and former Model Search winners, experience fashion and beauty consultations with our sponsors, and take home fabulous promotional items.
