Q.What is the Models.com/Wilhelmina Model Search? A. The Models.com/Wilhelmina Model Search is a national model search contest for girls between the ages of 13 – 25 years old. Q. How many girls are selected? A. After all the entries are received and the contest is over, we select 10 girls to receive a three-day VIP model trip to New York City 2006. The 10 finalists then compete for the chance to win modeling contracts and a cover shoot on Models.com. Q. What are the requirements? A. There are no height or size requirements for this contest. You must be a legal female U.S. resident (void in CT, CO, VT, MD, ND, and PR). No purchase is necessary, but there is a $20.00 processing fee, which covers the basic costs of contest fulfillment. Q. What is the deadline? A. The contest launched on August, 1, 2005 and will run until November 7, 2005. All entries must be postmarked by November 7, 2005. E-mail entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. EDT on November 7, 2005. Q. What type of photo should I submit? A. Your photo should depict entrant's appearance and personality, including photogenic quality and vitality. Photos may be a snapshot, Polaroid, or digital, color or black and white, no smaller than 3" x 4" and no larger than 8" x 10". No slides, transparencies, or photocopies are permitted. Legibly print name of the entrant on the back of the photograph. Entries and photos become property of Wilhelmina Models and will not be returned. Entry forms may be photocopied and entrants may enter as often as they like, however, a separate entry form, photograph and processing fee is required for each entry. Q. What are you looking for in the entrants? A. We are looking for vibrant, photogenic girls who are interested in the modeling business. There is no set formula regarding hair or skin color. We select what we hope are the strongest candidates from the photo submittals. Q. What is an Open Call Event? A. At each Open Call, girls have the opportunity to enter the contest in person by filling out an application, paying a $20 processing fee, and submitting a current photo. (If you don't bring a photo, have one taken on site at no charge). Open Call participants also have the opportunity to meet Wilhelmina agents, and elle girl magazine representatives and receive a free gift bag. Q. Is there an advantage to entering in person at an Open Call event? A. All entries, regardless of whether they are submitted by mail, online, or at an Open Call, stand an equal chance. However, girls who attend an Open Call event also get to meet elle girl representatives and Wilhelmina agents, receive promotional items, and have the chance to enter on-site drawings.
